Another cue that the interior design industry has taken from the fashion industry is bringing the seventies and eighties back! Trendy woven styles made from materials like bamboo and grass-weaves are extremely popular – and give interest and texture to otherwise flat walls. At once understated yet striking, the natural vibe of woven shades are perfect for earth conscious, eco-friendly California living at it’s best.

Speaking of eco-friendly, the superior energy savings provided by cellular (aka honeycomb) shades and insulating blinds have made them one of California’s most popular window treatments this year. We’ve save the biggest trend in window treatments for last: motorized, remote controlled blinds, shades, drapery and shutters! Gone are dangerous cords, difficult twist rods and the snapping and flapping of the previous generation of shades. Motorization allows you to adjust every window in your home from the comfort of your chair or sofa (or bed!) using a convenient remote control . . . or even an iPad!
