Types Of Draperies & Curtains

types of curtainsRipple Fold Drapery

This simple design is modern, yet elegant. Ripple Fold Drapery is a favorite of architects and interior designers because of its clean lines. Ripple Fold Draperies glide effortlessly along a track, making them easy to operate and highly functional. They are ideal for frequently used windows and doors.

Tailored Pleat Drapery

This style of drapery features a sleek waterfall pleat, which hangs beautifully. Each tailored pleat is meticulously hand-sewn to ensure a lasting perfect appearance, as well as functionality. A variety of custom fabrics can be used to give versatile tailored pleats a modern look or a classical feel.

Pinch Pleat Drapery

Pinch Pleat Draperies are “pinched” approximately 4” down from the top, to create a classic look. A stiffener is carefully sewn into each pleat, ensuring a lasting perfect appearance. Pinch Pleat Draperies can be lined in a variety of fabrics, adding to their durability and their room-darkening abilities.

Grommet Drapery

These draperies are highly dramatic with deep folds.  Hardware is inserted through large grommets at the top, displaying the rod. Versatile grommet drapes can compliment both classical décor & modern design.  They are primarily a decorative style, and look spectacular with both wood & iron hardware.

Inverted Pleat Drapery

Inverted Pleat Draperies are a clean and modern style of curtain. Inverted pleats are carefully hand-stitched to create a style that is both relaxed and luxurious. Inverted Pleat Curtains can compliment modern settings as well as traditional décor. This style is primarily a decorative, rather than functional, style.

Goblet Drapery

Goblet Draperies are a somewhat “retro” style that lends the style and sophistication of a bygone era to your décor. These draperies are also primarily a decorative, rather than functional, style. The dramatic pleats are handcrafted into a “goblet” shape at the top that will generally last for years to come.

Rod Pocket Drapery

Rod Pocket Curtains are the “classic” style of drapery, featuring a 3 ½” or larger top “pocket” through which the rod is inserted. Fabric is then gathered along the rod at desired widths. This design is generally not ideal for frequently used windows and doors, as the “gathers” have to be readjusted with each use. However, they are an excellent “traditional” look for a guest room or other window that is not opened frequently.
