Costco Only Sells One Brand of Window Blinds & Shades

Costco used to carry high quality Hunter Douglas window blinds and shades. However, Costco severed their relationship with Hunter Douglas three 3 years ago. Not only were Costco prices on Hunter Douglas window treatments higher than ours, they are now unable to communicate with Hunter Douglas about previous products they sold. So if you purchased Hunter Douglas from Costco and now have a warranty issue, Costco can no longer help you.

Costco now only sells Bali window treatments and Graber window treatments – however BOTH are manufactured by the same company Spring Window Fashions. And, unlike Hunter Douglas and the brands we carry, which are made in the USA, most of the window treatments Costco now sells are listed as “imported.” Additionally, Graber products do not come with the same warranties that Hunter Douglas does.

The Bali line is of much lower quality, and Costco offers NO installation services for these window blinds and shades – so you are stuck with do-it-yourself installation, and if there is a problem or issue you are on your own.

The Graber blinds they sell are actually not sold and installed directly through Costco – rather Costco goes through small company’s recommended by Graber. So you don’t really know who you will be dealing with until the installer shows up at your home. It could be someone with very little experience.

Costco Window Blinds & Shades are More Expensive

The bottom line is that when you purchase window blinds and shades from Costco you are paying two companies for your window treatments – Costco and the third party Graber seller/installer they use. So in order for both companies to make a profit, they must mark up the blinds and shades more than an independent company like us who doesn’t have a “middleman” to pay.
